Mother's Day With Two Mommies

Well it's that time of year again where our house celebrates appreciation for motherhood. The only difference is that there are two of us, which creates some confusion in another month for Father's Day. So far this has not been a huge issue because the kids have not yet started school. However it is going to be interesting next year when Chance gets to make crafts for Mommy in class. And again, awkward for Father's Day. I guess there is no clear cut answer to this one except to do what your family is comfortable with. I must admit it was a little strange to buy a "For my loving Wife" Valentine's card from some co- workers in the dark.

We just look at it as a day to show all women influential in your life appreciation. For Father's Day we celebrate both of us and for Mother's Day we commend both of us Mommies for being good, loving parents to our children we raise together. For those in our situation, embrace your love and motherhood, the best part of being a woman. Simply carrying the child does not make a person more deserving than the other. Teaching patience, showing guidance and owning responsibility truly makes a mother.
