Who Says the Kitchen is No Place for Man?

Watch out Martha, move over Emerill, there's a new kid in town. My son Chance decided to kick it up a notch today. After we walked home from school I asked him what he and Seren wanted me to cook for lunch. He completely took me by surprise when he informed me that he had an extra special plan. He sat me down on the couch and told me that he was going to make me lunch today. He told me to sit back, put my feet up and relax because he had it covered. OMG how cute! How many 4 year olds say that? I didn't want to hurt his feelings so I let him give it a try. I appreciated the gesture but grew nervous when I saw the fridge door fly open and many very interesting combinations appear on the counter. I asked if he needed help and he insisted on doing it himself. He did ask his 2 year old sister to pull up a chair and assist him in the kitchen.
It was the most adorable thing ever! As not to hover I did as he asked and sat on the couch. I kept peeking around the corner and grew suspicious each glance in. He did ask me to help him reach some of the spices. He said it was a surprise. Wow it certainly looked surprising. Sort of like that um Fear Factor kind of surprise. All I can say is that a hard boiled egg covered with salt, pepper, sugar, dill weed and paprika overwhelms the subtle flavor of a hand dipped peanut butter and mystery ingredient sandwich. MMMmmmm..... Everything tastes better when it's made with love.
