Gotta Love it- Grandma's Here!

I just absolutely love the fact as I'm writing for my super secret under cover blog that my oblivious in laws come scooting into my house without even knocking. No phone call no nothing. Just flinging open the front door and walk over to me on the computer as I'm writing about all my super secret stuff to gab on excitedly about how they've found a new conservative church and how my mother in law wants to work at this church in their Montessori school. Oh boy! Good for them! Oh yeah and they want to take my impressionable four year old out for the Day probably to brain wash him some more about sports, religion and manhood. As they come in like a tornado I love how my calm, snugly kids start running around yelling and screaming all crazy like. Gotta love that. Oh and do you know what else I love? I love that every weekend they keep dropping in to bug me. I love that they can come in and out whenever they please even though I've already done my visiting with them this week. Doesn't that earlier trip in the week count? I love how my life is always on edge and the first glimpse I see of peace far away from fear of my In-laws, they barge in through the door. I can't ever just have a relaxing Saturday can I? I love them to death but I need a little time away from them and the threat of them being in my house for a while. They come in and use the bathroom and get on the computer and start going through everything private. Drives me nuts! Hello people are you honestly not sick of me yet? Is it bad that I need some space from you after having you in my house for 5 mos. straight? Isn't my precious, super secret blog even safe from you anymore?

  • That's one of the good things about living 7 hours from my mom. We're on different ends of California... She can't just stop by and visit like she does with my brother and sister-in-law.

    Where do you live?

Hope everything works out with Beth's surgeries... Hope a windfall comes your way soon!

It really is rude ... in-laws just dropping in whenever and wherever ... and yes, you certainly may love them to death but Beth needs to put in a kind but firm word to Mom and Dad.

I'd suggest something like ... you know Mom and Dad we love you guys to death and we cherish that you were with us for all those months but ya know, it is stressful when you just drop in -- and while we love it, would you just give us some notice so we can straighten up the house, get the kids ready or some other (admittedly) lame excuse to use ... if Beth works it in from a "we love you dearly but" angle ... well, maybe that could ease some of this tension -- never knowing when your space/privacy is being invaded ...

My two cents anyway. You write wonderfully and both are inspiring, I say again ... please keep it up
